The fiasco that is the “election” of the new Speaker of The House has turned into a comedy of errors. Finding a conservative house member is more difficult than finding a wise man and a virgin.
Even the newly elected speaker’s reign doesn’t last long enough to take the oath of office. So, they have now decided to bring back an old, foolproof manner of electing a new speaker. They will draw straws.
*Update* — The straws didn’t work due to the fact that they were wrapped in paper. A do-over is coming up shortly.
*Update 2* — The house will now have a Rock, Scissors, Paper tournament. More later.
*Update 3* — Finally, former speaker Pelosi has recommended that they place numbers in a hat, and whoever draws the number 217 will be the new speaker.
