Youth Pastor Markos “Marky-Mark” Freeloos, of The Gen-X Church on the Way, has decided to start using the technology that God has seen fit to enrich His kingdom. No more standard lessons from a pamphlet or any notes or guidelines, sent down from some regional poohbah, and certainly no long and boring messages and scripture readings. Freeloos says that while hovering over pizza and some schnapps, he had a vision that the way to truly capture the hearts and minds of the youngsters he is leading, would be to keep things as short and as simple as possible. That’s when he came up with the Twitter-like concept of bible verse and sermon structure.
Pastor “Marky-Mark” says that to keep all scripture verses to a maximum of 88 characters, and a sermon paragraph at 140 characters. Hence, it would make the teacher have to prepare a little harder, thus, enlightening the teacher, and in return, the youth would have to stay alert and be most attentive to what was being said. The Youth Pastor stated that he has not yet approached the Senior Pastor and other church officials about this new change. He wants to have a couple of test runs and try to keep it away from anyone who might be tempted to blab it to the internet on those social media outlets.
As an example, we will use the verse below, where the bible speaks of technology:
Genesis 11:6 – And the LORD said, Behold, the people [is] one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Acts 2:40 – And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.
Exodus 31:1-5 – And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
