The First Church of the Damned Near Reformed
As they say, sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction.
In the sleepy town of Gibsonton, Florida, a little place of approximately 15,000 people, there is a little church caught up in the politics that are found only in a church setting. The pastor, a retired circus performer, wants to change the name of the First Church of the Damned and Reformed. Rev. Pat Doun, who has been trying for three years to make this happen only wants the name change to reflect the nearest thing to the truth about the people there. So, in order to do so, Rev. Doun wants to call the church The First Church of the Damned Near Redeemed. He feels this would be more inclusive to the people, rather than have a name that separates them.
There will be another meeting the Sunday after Thanksgiving, with a vote taken immediately after the service.
